After a long hiatus, Class War University is back! This is Eli Meyerhoff, the creator of this blog. I used to use the pseudonym “nooutside” here, but I’m using my real name now. Since I last posted, a lot has happened in my life. My partner and I had two kids, I underwent a struggle with colorectal cancer, I published a book (Beyond Education: Radical Studying for Another World), and I co-wrote “Abolitionist University Studies: An Invitation.” Most recently, I’ve become the co-host of a podcast called Another Education Is Possible. I’m restarting this blog as a way to share info about these ongoing projects, which continue exploring Class War University’s terrain of struggles.

In the first episode of Another Education Is Possible‘s new season, I join my co-hosts, Jordan Corson and Olive, to introduce the podcast and explore what the new season is all about: building a constellation of radical education projects across time and space. In our second episode, we interview historian Mark Bray about Spanish anarchist and educator Francisco Ferrer, the Modern School that Ferrer started in Barcelona in the early 1900s, and the way Ferrer’s work continues to resonate (or doesn’t) with current radical education projects. Our upcoming episodes include interviews with Glen Coulthard and Leanne Simpson about the Dechinta Centre for Research and Learning, Abdaljawad Omar about Birzeit University, Raul Romero Gallardo about Zapatista education, and many more.
